The Ultimate F-150 Truck Camper
Finding that perfect truck camper rig is one of the most satisfying feelings. Most Four Wheel Camper owners come to us and tell us they did months, sometimes years, of research before deciding what camper to buy.
We love that. Research is key to making the right decision for your truck camper build. We always recommend asking yourself these questions before deciding on which F-150 truck camper is best for you:

What are your priorities when traveling?
For example, if you love those hard-to-find secluded campsites high in the mountains or tucked away in a national forest, a Four Wheel Camper is a perfect fit for your F-150 truck camper! One of the big differences between our campers and other truck campers is our ability to maneuver and navigate tough 4×4 terrain. It is in our name, after all!
Does weight matter?
Bigger rigs come with a heavier weight. It’s important to weigh what’s more important to you: space or weight. Some slide-in truck campers weigh upward of 3000 pounds. Pull-behind campers can easily weigh over 10,000 pounds. Our full-size truck campers weigh between 400 – 1,600 pounds.
How much do you still want to use the truck bed?
If you are someone who is torn between wanting a slide-in camper but not wanting to lose the hauling and loading use of your truck bed, that is a major factor to consider. We have four main models for full-size trucks like the F-150, three slide-in versions (based on truck bed size), and a topper option. Our Project M truck topper is our cheapest, most lightweight pop up camper option, which is also the ideal solution for many owners who want a comfortable and practical pop up truck camper that doesn’t minimize truck bed space. It’s a great way to not have to tow any sort of camper while still being able to use your truck bed. However, keep in mind that slide-in campers can be easily removed in 30 minutes or less with our quick electrical connection, turnbuckle system and camper jacks.
Slide-In Camper Models For The F-150
We offer four different options for full-size truck campers:
- Raven (5.5ft beds)
- Hawk (6.5ft beds)
- Grandby (8ft beds)
- Project M Topper (All bed lengths)
Each one is detailed below, so browse through and choose the one that best fits your F-150!
The Raven: The short-bed option for full size trucks is our Raven pop up camper. It’s the ideal short-bed solution for those looking for a lightweight truck camper that provides both comfort and versatility. The interior features a couch, kitchen counter, and storage. The bed is fixed over the cab, which can be pulled out and turned into a king.
Raven Specs:
- Fits 5’5” truck beds
- One floor plan option
- Dry weight 1,050lbs
- Interior height popped up – 6’4”
The Hawk: The 6ft truck camper option is our Hawk slide in camper. The Hawk is our #1 most popular full-size truck camper, because it is the ideal size and fit for many of our customers. Some of our FWC family use it as their full-time rig, living in it as they travel and camp around the country. Others use it as their weekend warrior rig, bringing along pets, loved ones, and even kiddos for fun getaways and adventures.
Hawk Specs:
- Fits 6’5” truck beds
- Three floor plan options
- Base option available
- Dry weight 1,200lbs
- Interior height popped up – 6’4”
The Grandby: The great part about our full-size truck camper option is that we offer the Grandby, which fits 8ft long beds! It’s perfect for maximizing space and capacity, all compacted into the sleek pop up camper. Have plenty of space for storage, dining, relaxing, and sleeping.
Grandby Specs:
- Fits 8’0” truck beds
- Three floor plan options
- Base option available
- Dry weight 1,300lbs
- Interior height popped up – 6’4”
The Project M: The Project M is the most lightweight and minimalistic option for F-150 pop up camper, and also the one recommended above if you want to keep easy use of your truck bed for hauling and loading. There is a version for 5ft, 6ft, and 8ft bed sizes, and it can remain a truck camper shell or you can use it as a base for the ultimate custom build.
Project M Specs:
- Fits nearly every truck
- Shell option only
- From 352 lbs
- Interior height popped up – 6’4”
