Paid Camping | Southern Utah Camping Guide
Dead Horse Point State Park (Moab): Dead Horse Point State Park is a stunning cliffside area directly outside Canyonlands National Park. Campsites offer fire rings, shared bathrooms & showers, and electric hookups. Nightly rates start at $50/night. Yurts start at $150/night.
Mystic Hot Springs (Monroe): A locally-run campsite outside Mystic Hot Springs in Monroe. The campground offers a dishwashing station, water, shared showers & bathrooms, fire rings, and more. Access to hot springs is purchased separately, and the soaking slot must be booked in advance. Nightly rates start at $25/night.
Goblin Valley State Park (Green Valley): A remote and stunning state park in west-central Utah that offers stunning campsites and yurts next to rock cliffs. Explore miles of hiking trails and unique sandstone rock formations. Nightly rates start at $45/night. Yurts start at $150/night.
Big Bend Campground (Moab): A scenic campground located a short distance from Moab near Castle Valley. The campground is surrounded by stunning red rock formations and features a sandy beach, boat launch, river picnic areas, and more. First come, first serve. Nightly rates start at $10/night.
Snow Canyon Campground (St. George): Situated among red sandstone outside of St. George, this campground is a perfect base for those looking to hike, bike, ride horseback, and climb. The campground features electric hookups, showers, bathrooms, and more. No sewer hookups or firepits. Nightly rates start at $45/night.
Coral Pink Sand Dunes Campground (Kanab): The coral pink sand dunes are a unique attraction in Southern Utah located just outside Kanab. This campground is situated directly in the state park and is the perfect base for those looking to enjoy off-roading, hiking, and more. Nightly rates start at $25/night.
Spruces Campground (Cedar City): A quiet and scenic camping area within Dixie National Forest. Twenty-four campsites and three walk-in tent sites featuring fire rings and picnic tables. Shared pit toilets are located throughout the campground. Open May 27th- September 4th seasonally. Nightly rates start at $21/night.
Arch Campground (Henrieville): A low-key and relaxing campground in Kodachrome State Park that offers scenic campsites with shade. Water & electrical hookups, vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables are offered. Bookings can be made four months in advance. No tents allowed. Nightly rates start at $25/night.
Free Camping | Southern Utah Camping Guide
Capital Reef BLM (Torrey): Popular BLM camping area just outside Capital Reef National Park. Campsite features firepits and good service. Accessible for all vehicles but is very popular, making it crowded in peak months. Porta potties are offered. Pack it in, pack it out, and follow leave no trace principles. 14-day limit.
La Verkin BLM (La Verkin): Spacious BLM area above the town of La Verkin that offers full service for most carriers. Open spaces, no trees or shade. Accessible for all vehicles. No amenities. Pack it in, pack it out, and follow leave no trace principles. 14-day limit.
Horsethief Trail (Moab): Free BLM dispersed camping with 5-6 spots roughly 3 miles off the main roadway to Canyonlands National Park. Accessible dirt road for any vehicle. Spots feature cleared dirt areas and sagebrush. No amenities. Pack it in, pack it out, and follow leave no trace principles. 14-day limit.
Kanab River (Kanab): Free dispersed camping roughly 10 miles north of Kanab that features a river and shaded areas. This area is accessible to most vehicles off a dirt & sand road. Road conditions may deteriorate after heavy rain. No amenities. Pack it in, pack it out, and follow leave no trace principles.
