Meet the Popup Camper
Thinks it’s a Surfer Van
No barney here, we’re the world’s leading maker of slide-in and flat-bed pop-up truck campers.
From Santa Cruz to Doheny, from Baja to the shores of Peru, Four Wheel Camper owners have traveled, explored, and surfed.
Our pop-up truck campers are about the same footprint and height as a van, and can double as your primary ride. No bulky RV or trailer to deal with. While driving, or parked at your home base, this cab over truck camper is mega low profile (think gnarly stealth).
We can assist you matching the camper to a truck or your truck to a camper. Choose from a simple camper with a comfy bed and seating, to an Xtreme model with furnace, fridge, stove, sink, and solar. Either way you get lighting and USB ports.
Load up your boards on the adjustable Yakima roof racks, inside the camper, or on our specially designed side mounted racks. Take a cold one from one of our integrated or portable fridges, or go it with an ice chest.
We keep it simple. Manually pop up the one-piece aluminum roof to 6’ 4” or higher in less than a couple minutes. Pull out the queen or king bed in 15 seconds. Hit the lights or turn on the furnace in less than a few seconds. Wash off the salt water under the optional outdoor shower. Remove from your truck or load camper on the truck in about 20 minutes…all it takes is a cordless drill. No machinery to go wonky and ruin your day at the beach!
Built for both fun in the sun, and to navigate any chop, the Four Wheel Camper can handle rain, sleet, or snow (a growing number of customers are lodging in our campers at ski resorts). Four Wheel Campers are designed to withstand most any Santanas (customers have reported camping in 40-50 mile winds). The collapsible liner lasts decades, is marine grade and doesn’t mildew. Wherever your truck can rock dance, the Four Wheel Camper can hang. In fact, our campers can handle so much sketchy terrain you might nickname it your new “traction pad”.
While you watch a few “how-to” videos, we install the camper on your truck at our factory or dealer locations. Then, we give you hands-on training. And, as time goes by, we are always here to answer your questions. We have been around since 1972 and we’re not going anywhere.
While our pop-up truck campers aren’t replacing the classic surfer van (at least overnight), we encourage you to check out why many of our happy camper customers are giving us a yew! shout out. Top’s up dude!
